This TAG Heuer Carrera Automatic Chronograph, Calibre 16 has model reference number CV2011.BA0786. Some technical details of this large-dialled and impressive watch follow:

Case material(s) and Size
Stainless steel, with a polished finish all over. The case is 41 mm in diameter by 16 mm thick.

Dial
This watch has a beautifully big and clear dial: the combination of the radially-brushed finish of the silver dial and the lens-effect of the domed glass (crystal) over it produces an unusually 'bright' dial enhanced by a bit of sparkle that's provided by the polished surfaces of the hands and hour markers. The effect really is something different!

The dark grey rings around the snailed dials at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions add a nice bit of symmetrical detail.

Hands and hour markers are lumed.

Main crystal ('glass')
This is domed, and made from ultra-hard sapphire, a material with the same composition as rubies.

Bezel
Dark grey, fixed, and with a tachymetric scale.

Water resistance
50 m depth

Movement
The movement in this model, TAG Heuer's Calibre 16, is a self-winding mechanical movement whose intricacies can be appreciated through the display window in the back of the watch case (see photos, which are of the actual item).

When fully wound, the spring has a power reserve equivalent to approx. 42 hours of use, but of course, every movement of your wrist when wearing this timepiece will automatically top that up.

When handling this watch, the sheer ease and fluidity with which the watch's self-winding counterweight rotates is very noticeable, and is a reflection of the very high quality of the movement.

Timekeeping features
Centre hour and minute hands and a small seconds hand at the 9 o'clock position provide the normal time-of-day. A centre second hand and a 30 minute and a 12-hour counter provide the chronograph (stop-watch) complication's functions. The dark annulus around each of the two chronograph subsidiary dials helps to distinguish them easily.

Bracelet
A very smart combination of finishes adorns this stainless steel link bracelet which is joined by a neat, push-button-release folding clasp.

Details of this particular example
This pre-owned item was first bought new in 2005, comes boxed and with all its papers and books, and is in excellent condition.

Considering the condition of this watch, which is very close to that of a brand new one, our price of £1,795 represents a substantial saving of just over £2000 compared to the list price (£3800) of this watch brand new!

Comment
This is a fairly big and masculine watch that manages to look a little bigger than it actually is because of the proportions of its clear, bright dial in relation to its relatively slim bezel. It manages to be impressive while being tastefully sober looking: it would make a great watch for someone who wants a great-looking, masculine but understated and business-like watch.
