Item no.: WSN 1336
This is a fantastic looking IWC "PORTUGIESER ATUOMATIC" with model reference number 5001 (IW500107).
This is a fairly big watch, with a case size of 42.3mm diameter by approx., 14mm thick and, thanks to its slim bezel, presents a particularly large and very clear dial. The matt silver Arabic-numeral dial presents hour, minute and second hands (the latter in a subsidiary dial at 9 o'clock), a date indicator at 6 o'clock and a power-reserve indicator at the 3 o'clock position.
The automatic movement inside, which can be marvelled at through the unusually large display window in the back of the watch's case (see photo), boasts 42 jewel bearings (synthetic rubies) and an impressive power reserve when fully wound of approximately 7 days (168 hours)! Compare that to the mere 2 or 3 days typical of most other automatic mechanical watch movements.
The power reserve meter is actually very helpful, because when it drops to only around 1 day or less (e.g., if you've not worn your watch for several days), you can also wind the watch manually, and the meter becomes a useful guide when doing so.
Over the dial is a gently domed, ultra-hard and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal which has been given a reflection-reducing treatment to leave the dial even more readable.
The watch's stainless steel case is mounted on its original IWC black leather strap, which is closed by the easily-adjustable folding deployant IWC clasp.
This watch was new in Nov 2014, comes with its box, books and papers, and is in truly superb, virtually-mint condition!
Our Price and Guarantee

And you could be subtly showing off this special watch, which is in superb condition, for £6,750 fully inclusive.
However, note that your cash outlay could be significantly less than this asking price, because we may also consider your old Swiss watch in part exchange if you have one. Note that we can also offer 12 months of interest-free credit on up to 90% of the amount payable: please ask the shop for details.

The accompanying photos are of the actual item that we have for sale. Despite that, we would of course always suggest you call into our shop if you can: we think it'd even be worth a special trip into Manchester!
After all, there really is no better way to check out a watch that you might be interested in owning than to come and take a closer look at it. Inspect it, handle it, try it on for size and ask us about it! Of course, while you're here, you can browse our large collection of other superlative-condition famous Swiss brand watches. In any case, not only would you be very welcome, but you'll also be in the heart of Manchester's shopping district (we're located just off St Ann's Square) and there are plenty of places nearby to enjoy a coffee too, so why not plan a visit soon?
Here, you're typically able to browse around one hundred and fifty pre-owned Swiss watches that we have out on display, each of which has been carefully selected, based on its condition, from among the many more watches that we see and handle every day. (To a large extent, that's in effect what we do: we 'filter' pre-owned watches. Only the very best of what we buy in or receive in part exchange deals make it onto our display shelves and onto this website, and this particular item is a fantastic example of such standards. The rest are sold on: for example, to smaller dealers in the trade.)
The result is that we probably have the best collection of pre-owned Swiss watches in such prime-condition in the region! Why not take advantage of that fact, because it can make it much easier for you to find your next (or perhaps your first) watch that's in the sort of condition that you really want, a watch that delights you?
