Item no.:  WSN 1390

The stunningly impressive Rolex YACHT-MASTER II with model reference number 116680 is a regatta chronograph designed to meet the needs of professional sailors. It features the world's first programmable countdown with a **mechanical memory** (!) to provide precise synchronization with the crucial starting sequence of a yacht race.

Its red-contoured countdown arrow and its second hand were designed to be readable at a glance against the dedicated 10-minute countdown graduation on its white dial and against the graduations on the bezel.

The Yacht-Master II is equipped with the calibre 4161 movement, a self-winding mechanical regatta chronograph which introduces an innovative regatta countdown with a unique, patented mechanical memory. A number of the 360 components in the 4161 movement are so tiny or complex that they could only be manufactured using new, cutting-edge technology.

Of course, like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 4161 movement is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed days of testing at the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

The bi-directionally rotatable 'Ring Command' bezel on this big (44mm) and beautifully proportioned watch includes a beautiful blue 'Cerachrom' ceramic insert with engraved numerals and inscription: the very high hardness of the ceramic material helps to protect from damage what is, in our experience, probably the most vulnerable part of a watch, thereby helping to protect your investment and to keep it looking like new for much longer.

Functions of the watch include centre hour and minute hands, small seconds hand at 6 o'clock, and a programmable countdown with mechanical memory and on-the-fly synchronization.

The contemporary and very smart 'Oyster' bracelet of this precision instrument marries aesthetics and function, and is designed to be robust yet comfortable. It is equipped with an Oysterlock folding clasp, which prevents accidental opening and an Easylink comfort-extension link, a clever and very neat system exclusive to Rolex that allows the wearer to increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm, providing additional comfort in any circumstance.

Specifics and Price

The particular item we have available was new in Feb 2016, and is in superb (mint) condition: it looks like a new watch. It comes of course with box and papers/books, and offers you the opportunity to own this stunning, highly sought-after, beautiful and recognisable design for the very substantial saving of £2,400 compared to buying new at the official list price: Rolex's suggested retail price is £14,350; our price is just £11,950 fully inclusive.

Such a price for such a sought-after design means that realistically, this watch is unlikely to be in our display cabinets for very long. So if you're interested in beating other discerning and savvy buyers or investors to the quarry, or would simply like to browse our large range of other pre-loved watches from prestigious Swiss brands, why not plan on visiting our friendly shop here in Manchester city centre very soon? Alternatively, call us on 0161 831 9649 during normal business hours (Mon - Sat inclusive) to make an enquiry.

This watch came with a 5-year ("green seal") warranty from Rolex starting in Feb 2016 when it was first purchased, therefore it is still under warranty until Feb 2021. That's approx., one year and three months of warranty remaining at the time of listing, i.e., as of Oct 2019.

Note that for convenience (and unusually for us), the accompanying photos are actually our library photos of a separate item in similar condition and with the exact same model number, colour and spec. However, we'd always recommend you call into our shop here in Manchester if you're serious about buying a watch anyway, because we think it's always better to try a watch on and to inspect it closely when spending this sort of money.

NB: When making enquiries about this particular watch, please quote its unique stock/item number, which is WSN 1390 so we can more easily identify and locate the watch and its details for you. Thank you.
