Summary

This is a beautifully big*, 2009 ZENITH 'DEFY Classic' Chrono Aero with model reference number 03.0516.4000 (03.0516.4000/21.M516), featuring the automatic 'EL PRIMERO' movement.

This striking watch comes with its box and 'papers' (the latter is in the form of a "Temporary Card" from Zenith International) and is in very good condition. (In the most part, the watch is actually in really excellent condition, but I mark it down slightly to "very good" because it has just a few *minor* scratches, the most noticeable being on the bezel between the 3 and 4 o'clock position as can be seen in the accompanying photos, which are of the actual item we have for sale.)

*The watch's case measures 43mm in diameter by a satisfyingly "chunky" 16mm thick.

This is a stainless steel watch with a uni-directionally rotatable (time-lapse) bezel and 300m water resistance, making it a practical diving watch for some forms of diving.

It also provides a chronograph (stop-watch) complication with centre chronograph second hand and 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers/counters in two of the subsidiary dials. The third small dial provides the continuous second hand. The two push buttons for controlling the chronograph have screw-down surrounds/collars to provide water resistance.

The automatic movement inside the watch can be viewed through a window in the back of the case.

A date indicator is located at the 4:30 position, which is magnified by a small lens built into the ultra-hard, scratch-resistant sapphire 'glass'/crystal that protects that gorgeous Guilloche-textured dial.

We think the functional touches of colour that Zenith have brought both to that lovely dark-grey/almost-black bezel and to the dial are just right: readability is improved without over doing it, so that the colour gives a nice 'lift' to the overall appearance.

Our Price and Guarantee

Firstly, if you like this particular watch model (and who wouldn't?), realize that there aren't many around: it's not like buying a pre-owned Rolex Datejust, so it'd be advisable not to hesitate! And secondly, this is a great-looking watch which is bound to attract admiring comments. And yet this watch could be giving that boost to your image for just £3,500 fully inclusive, which represents a very accessible price for access to the prestigious "Swiss-watch property ladder"!

But that price isn't the end of the story. Because with Swiss watches, it's important to consider not only the price, but also the actual, true cost of ownership. That is, to estimate how much this watch might be worth in, for example, 3 or 4 (or more) years' time, say. It's only then that the monthly cost of owning such a watch can be estimated, and it's usually only then that people realize how little it can cost to own such a mark of distinction.

Furthermore, your cash outlay could be significantly less than our asking price above, because we may also consider your old Swiss watch in part exchange if you have one. (If there is any possibility you might like to do a part-exchange deal when you visit us, please bring your watch in with its box and papers if you still have them!)

Note that we may also be able to offer 12 months of interest-free credit on part of the cost of the watch to make things even easier: please contact the shop for details.

To ensure you feel confident to deal with us with complete peace of mind, we will guarantee this item for a full 12 months from the date of your purchase. And we have the means to back that guarantee up fully: we have a lot of experience supporting Swiss watches, with our own on-site workshop manned by highly-experienced watch technicians, access to original parts, and even access to off-site technicians within our network for any of those (rarer) trickier or special jobs that might be required.

To find out more

If you'd like to know more about this handsome conversation piece, or indeed about any of our other pre-owned watches from the prestigious, recognised and celebrated Swiss brands in which we deal, please don't hesitate to call us on 0161 831 9649 (normal business hours, Mon-Sat inclusive). Alternatively, why not send us a message now**?

Despite the accompanying photos being of the actual item that we have for sale, we'd of course always suggest you call into our shop if you can: we think it'd even be worth a special trip into Manchester!

After all, there really is no better way to check out a watch that you might be interested in owning than to come and take a closer look at it. Inspect it, handle it, try it on for size and ask us about it! Of course, while you're here, you can browse our large collection of other superlative-condition famous Swiss brand watches. In any case, not only would you be very welcome, but you'll also be in the heart of Manchester's shopping district (we're located just off St Ann's Square) and there are plenty of places nearby to enjoy a coffee too, so why not plan a visit soon?

Here, you're typically able to browse around one hundred and fifty pre-owned Swiss watches that we have out on display, each of which has been carefully selected, based on its condition, from among the many more watches that we see and handle every day. (To a large extent, that's in effect what we do: we 'filter' pre-owned watches. Only the very best of what we buy in or receive in part exchange deals make it onto our display shelves and onto this website, and this particular item is a good example of such fussiness. The rest are sold on: for example, to smaller dealers in the trade.)

The result is that we probably have the best collection of pre-owned Swiss watches in such prime-condition in the region! You can take advantage of that fact to make it much easier for you to find your next (or perhaps your first) watch that's in the sort of condition that you really want. A watch that delights you: one of those purchases that leaves you feeling completely satisfied that you've chosen well and that gives you pleasure for months and years ahead.
